2014 In Review

The past two years I have done Year In Review's where I review the year and all that happened, and those are fun posts to put together to see what all I did every month that year, and also to look back on!  So of course I had to do one for 2014 also!

To see the last two years, click on the year to go to those posts!
2012     2013

2014 has been quite the year.  2013 was full of exciting things happening with graduating from high school and starting college and new friendships.  While 2014 has had some tough times, but also some exciting and memorable moments.  And in 2015 I will still be dealing with some tough times, I'm hoping to make memories with those who I love and just have a great year.  But that's another post so let's see what all happened in 2014!!! :D

January was the rest of Winter break, repainting my room, babysitting, working at the daycare, going back for Interterm, spending time with family, and spring semester beginning.

February was celebrating my best friends birthday, Valentine's Day, enjoying beautiful weather, and being busy with school work.

March

April was Sam's 7th birthday, My first Relay For Life, Easter, time with friends and family and starting to wrap up the semester.

May was finishing my first year in college, Stop Day, spending tons of time with friends, An outdoor showing of Frozen, bonding with my soon to be roommate, saying goodbye to friends, coming home for the summer, starting back at the daycare, my step brothers graduating high school, and catching up with friends.

June was enjoying a beautiful summer with sunsets, lot's of friend time and outings, along with family time, working and just enjoying summer.

July was more friend time, two zoo outings, catching up with friends, enjoying beautiful weather and taking too many pictures, celebrating mom's birthday, and getting ready for my Florida trip.

August was an amazing and so much fun Florida trip with my best friend, enjoying the beach, finishing the summer working, celebrating my birthday, enjoying the last of summer, starting fall semester, catching up with friends, and bonding with my new roommate.

September was getting back into the groove of classes, starting practicum in the classroom, spending tons of time with friends that included making memories and having more good times then can be listed.

October was football games, buying first lottery ticket, fall break, and making tons more memories with friends and families.

November was first snow fall, fun times with friends, Casino night, Thanksgiving, some hard news, and being busy with the semester.

December was celebrating my roommate's birthday, too many fun times with my roommate, Christmas concert, Christmases', friend time, memories being made, Girl's day, Winter break starting, a couple firsts, working at the daycare over break, celebrating Christmas with family and friends, and just looking back at the year and the hard times and just how far i've come in the year.

I'm somewhat sad to see 2014 over, but excited to put this year behind me all the good and bad, and start a new year!  A post about my hopes and goals for 2015 to come tomorrow!

Hope everyone has a fun & safe New Years!!

2014

As I write this I am not sure if I will publish this or not, but my head has been full of thoughts of this last year and how much I've grown and changed and I wanted to write these feelings down to get them out and look back over the year.  And this is my place to do that :)

In many ways 2014 had many hard to face events.  The biggest one being my grandfather's death back in March.  That is the hardest thing I've ever dealt with and i've dealt with quite a bit over my lifetime.  But nothing can compare to death and losing a love one.  Still something that I am dealing with and missing my grandpa everyday.  So that is a huge thing that happened in 2014 that effected the rest of the year and the rest of my life.

Another hard thing to face that 2014 brought into my life was more recent.  Just in November I learned of news in my family that is bringing forth many changes and things to face.  Not only did this effect 2014, but will effect 2015.  And it is not my news to share, so I will not say exactly what is going on, but I do want to document that it is changing a lot and has effect my 2014.  It is causing us to get our house on the market to be sold and we will be moving in the earlier months of 2015.

And then there is a lot of events and things that I've done in 2014 that has made me grow as a person and is continuing to be making me into the person that I am becoming.  That has made me more comfortable with who I am and trying new things, talking to new people, ect.  I also have gained hope for the future and waiting for that right person in my life, which is a hard journey let me tell you.  And maybe, just because I know others will be able to relate and maybe I could help others, I may share my journey with that at some point :)
Everything that I did in 2014 and the experiences I had is helping me become the best version of myself and making me the person that I'm becoming!!  And while some of these experience weren't easy, it is apart of my journey and who I am becoming, and was necessary for this process.

Another big thing in the last couple months is a rekindling of my faith, that I have always had, but it hasen't been as strong, as it is now, in awhile.  This helps with who I am becoming and me growing as a person.  Because my faith is a very important thing to me, and is also apart of me.

There is also many good things that 2014 has had happened or brought into my life.  It has shown me who my true friends are, and blossomed these friendships.  Which I am very thankful for! :)
It has brought new people into my life, which I am very glad and thankful for too.  It has also had me lose friends, but all for reasons and to help me grow.
I've been reminded of all my blessings this year.
My family has grown and changed and brought stronger family relationships and I have been reminded, esp lately, how much family means to me and how family isn't always just blood.  Thankful for these reminders and people.

I have also started really working on my dream of becoming a teacher.  I have been working on my passion by being in the classroom this last semester and I've been re insured that it is my dream and passion and for me.  SO this has been a very exciting part of this year!

Looking back at 2014 I have remembered so much and I think the biggest thing I have remembered is just how much I have grown and changed in aspects of my life, because of challenges I have faced, like death, things that I have put myself out there for, and the firsts' that I faced.  I am so glad for these things that are making me into the person I am becoming.  Someone who wants to completely love their selves and others and do what they love.  And to be the best version of themselves as possible!

So this post has turned into a really long feeling type of posts, but this is one of the reasons why I love blogging, to get my feelings out, and it makes me feel better.  And this type of post is one I haven't done in awhile while facing many things, so this was probably a much needed and over due post!! :)
And at the beginning I wasn't sure if I was going to post this, but I think I will.  And mostly for me then anything, to have it to look back on since I hashed out my 2014 and everything that happened and was apart of this year.  So if you are still reading, thank you for making it through the post and hopefully it wasn't too boring!

And that brings me to my last point of this, thank you all for reading my blog and supporting me!  The occasional comments from my readers always puts a smile on my face.  And I love blogging a lot and I haven't always been the best at keeping up with it in 2014 so hopefully I can get better at it in 2015, because I love recording the memories and my feelings and it does a lot for me!!

Tomorrow there will be a post of pictures and a recap of 2014 like I have done for 2012 and 2013.  Happy New Year!!!

Christmas Day 2014

If you haven't read my Christmas Eve recap go read that first! :)

Christmas morning I was wooken up right before 8am by a way to hyper and excited 7 year old brother who wanted us up to open Santa gifts!

We opened up our stockings, our gifts from Santa and then our present from mom.
Though we didn't get tons of presents this year because of family situation ATM I did get the things I really wanted and giving is more fun then receiving :)

Santa gave body some bones, he was pretty happy!
After presents we had breakfast and hung out for awhile.  Then around 9:45am me and my brother headed to my dad's.

We opened our gifts from dad and then hanged out for awhile before we headed to my Grandma's for my dad's side's Christmas.

Once we got to Grandma's we hung out for a bit before lunch and then opening presents and did Pictures.
Then we relaxed and hung out for another hour until we had to go to dad's girlfriends side's Christmas!
We were at my dad's girlfriends parents from 4pm to 9pm.  We hung out, ate dinner, opened presents, did photobooth, played games, and hunt out.  It was a good time!
It was a great Christmas with some great gifts and most important family members that I love.
It was a Christmas with reminders that time with family makes Christmas better and that family comes in all shapes and sizes, and that family is not just blood.  It's also those people who welcome you into their family with open arms and treats you like blood family.  And for this I'm thankful for <3

Hope you also had a very Merry Christmas!!
